Export from Claude

2 min read

Anthropic lets you export your Claude conversation data through the settings panel. Here is how to download everything.

Steps

  1. Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai and click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.

  2. Go to the Privacy section

In the Settings panel, navigate to the Privacy section. You will see options related to your data.

  3. Click “Export data”

Click the Export data button. Anthropic will begin preparing your data for download.

  4. Wait for the email

You will receive an email with a link to download your data. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours depending on how much conversation history you have. Check your spam folder if you don't see it after a while.

  5. Download the ZIP file

Click the download link in the email. You will get a ZIP archive containing your conversations and associated data.

TIP
The exported data will include your conversation history in a structured format. Upload the relevant JSON file to the AI Memory Migrator to begin building your memory pack.
NOTE
Like other export links, the download URL may expire. Download it as soon as you receive the email. You can always request a fresh export if needed.
NOTE
Some users report that exporting all conversations at once can fail silently — you may receive an incomplete file or no email at all. If this happens, try exporting just the past 3 months of conversations instead. You can select the date range during the export process. This often works when a full export does not.

Export Your Claude Memories

Claude saves a summary of what it has learned about you through your conversations. Including this alongside your conversation export gives the AI Migrator a more complete picture of who you are.

  1. Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai and click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.

  2. Go to the General section

In Settings, navigate to General. Look for the Memory section — it shows a summary of what Claude remembers about you.

  3. Copy your memory summary

Click on the memory summary to expand it, then select all the text and copy it (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C on Windows, or Cmd+A then Cmd+C on Mac).

  4. Paste into the AI Migrator

In the AI Migrator, scroll to the “Or paste text” section and paste your memories there. Click Add pasted text.

TIP
Claude's memory summary is usually short — just a few paragraphs. But combined with your full conversation export, it gives the AI Migrator a more complete picture of who you are and how you work.
